Sun hood for a SUNLU field monitor

A 3D printed sun hood for a SUNLU field monitor. It shades the screen so the camera image stays readable in full sunlight.

Problem

In bright sunlight the field monitor screen became hard to read, which made it difficult to judge the shot outdoors.

Outcome

The hood shades the screen and makes the camera image easier to read in full sunlight.

  1. 01Measured the SUNLU monitor and set the hood geometry around its screen.
  2. 02Modelled the hood in CAD.
  3. 03Prepared the print in the Bambu slicer using PETG-CF.
  4. 04Printed the hood with FDM.
  5. 05Fitted the printed hood to the monitor in the field.
